The Assisting Apprenticeship Immersion is offered to a limited number of students who already have an established, ongoing relationship with the teacher.
This apprenticeship is an opportunity to shadow the teacher in the Mysore room, learning through observation, presence, and responsibility rather than formal instruction.
Duration
Program Dates: Monday, June 1st – Saturday, August 1st
Minimum commitment: 6 weeks
Eligibility Requirements
Have practiced regularly at Ashtanga Yoga Squamish for a minimum of 6 months and maintain a consistent Mysore practice for over a year
Demonstrate reliability, discretion, and respect for the space and students
Be willing to learn through observation and service, supporting the practice without teaching
Commit to reading selected bibliography and dedicate time to study, reflection, and review outside the Mysore room
Continue their daily self-practice at the studio
Not engage in parallel learning programs, as attention and focus are essential
Open to delve into Sanskrit terms
Understand the responsibility involved in assisting students
This apprenticeship does not imply authorization to teach and is not a certification pathway. It is a relational and educational process, grounded in trust, continuity, and commitment — both to the lineage and tradition and to deepening one’s personal practice.
Participation is by application and invitation only.
Rest & Observances:
Moon days will be observed as no-practice days
Sundays are rest days
